Machine Operator

At Panasonic since April 1990

Originally from Talbot County, I grew up in a little town called Geneva. In 1996, my family purchased a home in Columbus, Georgia where I live today. Family is of the upmost importance to me and my weekends often consist of visiting family members and playing with my adorable nieces and nephews. I am also the proud mother to a beautiful young lady named Kelli and have been delighted to watch her mature into a young adult. Over the years I have enjoyed traveling to many places and some of my favorite memories include trips to Las Vegas and Virginia.

In 1990 I began working for a sister company called Mutec as a Machine Operator. I was promoted to Group Leader and remained in this position until the factory closed in 2008. In the 18 years with this company, I genuinely enjoyed working closely with many supervisors to assist and motivate the employees to meet the company goals. I strived to improve daily activities by observing and monitoring on-hand productivity. Additionally, I was involved with scheduling and research to ensure productive operations. After Mutec closed, I spent five years as a machine operator at an American technology company working in packaging and printing.

I returned to my Panasonic family in May of 2014. As a Machine Operator, my day begins with filling out our “5S” safety check list. Once complete, I receive the daily schedule and begin to build the battery orders by operating the Hibar and Alloyd machines. Additionally, I oversee the flexible packaging area, provide instruction to the government contract workers and complete audits on the production line. All responsibilities help ensure our daily operations run smoothly.

I truly enjoy being part of the Panasonic family. As a self-proclaimed “people person,” my favorite part of my job is working with others. Our teamwork is effective and efficient, which supports Panasonic’s overall objectives. The benefits from Panasonic are hard to beat and aid the company retention. I look forward to many more years here and welcome all chances to further my career with Panasonic.
